How do I set up my first alarm?

Simply open the app and use the AI chat to tell it when you want to wake up. For example: "Set an alarm for 7am tomorrow" or "Wake me up at 8:30 on weekdays."

How does the AI understand my requests?

dumb alarm uses advanced AI to understand natural language. Just talk to it like you would a friend. It understands times, days of the week, recurring patterns, and more.

What if my alarm doesn't go off?

Make sure you've granted notification permissions to dumb alarm in your iOS Settings. Go to Settings → Notifications → dumb alarm and ensure "Allow Notifications" is turned on.

Also check that your device isn't in Do Not Disturb mode, or that dumb alarm is allowed in Do Not Disturb settings.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

All subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel or modify:

  1. Open iOS Settings
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. Find "dumb alarm" and manage your subscription

Can I use the app without AI features?

Yes! You can still set alarms manually in the traditional way. However, the AI features make managing your alarms much easier and save you significant time.

Is my data private and secure?

Absolutely. All your alarms and settings are stored locally on your device. Only your AI chat commands are sent to our AI service for processing, and they're not associated with your personal identity.

What iOS versions are supported?

dumb alarm requires iOS 18.0 or later to take advantage of the latest alarm management features.

Troubleshooting

App crashes or freezes

  • Make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store
  • Try force-quitting the app and reopening it
  • Restart your iPhone
  • If the problem persists, contact us with details about when it happens

AI isn't responding

  • Check your internet connection (AI features require internet)
  • Try rephrasing your request more simply
  • Make sure you've granted necessary permissions

Alarms aren't saving

  • Check if you've reached any storage limits on your device
  • Make sure the app has necessary system permissions
  • Try reinstalling the app (note: this will remove all current alarms)
